No, this isn’t the Easter bunny! I had to foster a litter of four baby bunnies for a little while because the new mommy wasn’t sure what to do and injured this one. Hubby built another nesting box and now she is mothering them very nicely. We only had one box, because we only expected one litter, but apparently we aren’t very good at determining rabbit gender!

These came first and snagged the only box up. There are six of them somewhere down in there! It is so cute because if they hear you they jump all over the place like popcorn!

This is our new bull calf- it will be our son’s 4H project.

I took a LOT of pictures because he wouldn’t hold still! A lot of the time he was trying to eat her coat!

Sweet Baby Gideon...

Gideon William Briner went home to heaven on March 19, 2010. I cannot express just how special this little boy was to so many people. Thousands of people prayed for this little guy- from all over the world. Thank you! As a result, many people have come forward to tell us that their lives have been changed and they have been brought closer to the Lord.

I know that my life has been changed forever.

The faith and courage shown by his parents has been an inspiration to so many people. My sister even spoke at his funeral- a feat which amazed everyone there and took strength only possible through God. She is a wonderful mother!

We do take great comfort in that he is whole and healed in heaven- no more wires, no more tubes, no more pain.

And we feel blessed to have had 13 days here on Earth with him. In that short time, he was truly a mighty warrior. In his fight for life, he touched the lives of many and did more work for the Lord than many will in a long lifetime. So now he can rest and with each day that passes, we are closer to seeing him again.

My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

Pray for Gideon

Well, it has been a rough week. A week ago we learned that my nephew has a heart problem. On Wednesday, it was diagnosed as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, which means he will need three open heart surgeries which will leave him with only half of a heart. (see link for explanation- I can't do it justice). On Friday, my sister went into labor and she had him Saturday- sweet little guy must have been waiting for me to show up so he could arrive! He went straight to the NICU and they told us that if we had not found out about his condition just a few days prior he would not have lived because he was affected so quickly. On Sunday he underwent emergency surgery because his lungs were filling up with fluid. Finally, the last few days have been better...
We really were not prepared for this so it has been a lot to grasp at once. She had an otherwise uneventful pregnancy and normally this is caught at the 20 week ultrasound. Thankfully, her doctor does a later one, unlike most around here. God must have a plan for this little warrior, so please keep on praying for him.
My sister has been absolutely amazing. She handled 40 hours of labor with no drugs and she maintains a positive outlook. I am awestruck by her strength and I love her, no matter what we have been through.

Spring is just around the corner...

This warmer weather here is WONDERFUL and the snow is melting super fast! Yesterday, we made a snowbunny!

Baby Shower Take 2

We had another shower for my sister yesterday- this time it was an open-house at her place. I think the favors were absolutely ADORABLE! I blocked out his name and due date just because I am paranoid like that.

Also, I let my girls each give her a little something so that they wouldn't wrap up toys that weren't even theirs to give away like last time. One of them was a tissue holder I whipped up to match her purse. I got the directions HERE from Stitch-Craft. It was soooo therapeutic to have 5 minutes of peace with just my sewing machine and I!



So, I should have a little break before another baby shower for my other sister... FINALLY- it is someone other than ME having kids!
